On the shores of Lake Como in Cernobbio, Villa d’Este brings together historic architecture, gardens and views across the water. Its setting made a memorable backdrop for Sila and Atilla’s destination wedding in Italy.

Sila and Atilla’s Wedding Story
Sila and Atilla, a Turkish couple living in Dubai, chose Villa d’Este for their international wedding. Romance in Italy coordinated the celebration, with Sara Azzi overseeing the planning and arrangements for guests travelling from abroad. A welcome dinner the evening before brought everyone together ahead of the wedding day.
Sila prepared in one of the villa’s suites, with hair and make-up by The Studio Como. She wore a Michael Cinco gown, Valentino shoes and Bulgari jewellery. Atilla, dressed in a black tuxedo, waited for their first look beside the lake.
The couple entered the Giardino del Mosaico by the monumental staircase, accompanied by a string trio and floral arrangements by Vincenzo Dascanio. After the ceremony and family photographs, they spent a little time together for portraits while guests enjoyed the aperitivo.
For dinner in the Sala Impero, Sila changed into a fitted white satin dress. White flowers and candles created a warm setting for the Italian menu, speeches and music by Bottega della Musica. The cake cutting took place outdoors on the lakeside terrace, with fireworks arranged by the villa, before the party continued into the night.
