Villa Subaglio in Merate is an eighteenth-century residence surrounded by parkland, gardens and cypress-lined avenues. Its frescoed rooms and historic cellars offered the setting for the wedding of dancers Virna Toppi and Nicola del Freo.
The couple’s story began on the stage of Teatro alla Scala. At Villa Subaglio, they brought their family, friends and fellow dancers together for a celebration photographed by Click E Chic.

Virna and Nicola’s Wedding Story
Virna and Nicola chose a ceremony along the villa’s cypress avenue. Wearing Giorgio Armani, Casadei shoes and a long veil carried by two flower girls, Virna arrived with her father to join Nicola. Giorgio Armani also created the groom’s look.
After the ceremony, La Casa dei Sapori served the aperitivo in the gardens. Among the guests was their friend and colleague Roberto Bolle. Click E Chic created distinctive large-format portraits while friends and family celebrated around the couple.
The wedding meal took place in the villa’s historic rooms. Guests returned to the garden for the cake cutting and bouquet toss, accompanied by the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra. Virna and Nicola then shared their first dance as a married couple, followed by a choreography with their colleagues.
Calliope Wedding organised the event, with flowers by Fiori di Zoe. Barbara photographed the wedding, while Federico and Stefano captured the film. The celebration continued late into the night in Villa Subaglio’s historic cellars.
